The 5th festival edition opens with the composer who has shaped the art song like no other to this day: the Swedish baritone Arvid FAGERFJÄLL and the German-British-Polish pianist Benjamin MEAD invite you to Franz SCHUBERT’s winter journey to the place where it happened – in the barren winter landscape – one. The audience becomes the physical companion of the wanderer, who wants to process and repress his past love affair by progressing. An existential trek marked by joy and despair, hope and memory, alienation in physical cold and a heart that finally freezes because of doubts about the power of his love.
