Wild Longings – Sehnsuchtswilde

The Catalano/Trottmann duo – soprano Loredana Catalano and guitarist Mathias Trottmann – embarks on a musical quest for wild longings. Some dream of distant lands, others of home or a beloved person… These yearnings come to life in a wide spectrum of sounds and emotions – in Johannes Brahms’ Zigeunerlieder, in Hungarian folk melodies, or in Manuel de Falla’s Siete canciones populares españolas.

To express perhaps the deepest longing of all, Mathias Trottmann has arranged Maurice Ravel’s Deux mélodies hébraïques for voice and guitar – a moving homage to the longing for peace.
