Searching for an ideal place to develop ideas on performing art songs and curating programmes, the two distinguished recitalists, soprano Franziska HEINZEN and pianist Benjamin MEAD, decided to launch a festival in Franziska’s hometown Brig in midst of the Swiss Alps.

The main aim is to build a new and sustainable opportunity to unite and promote qualified artists in a niche such as the art of song.

Brig provides a perfect recital hall in a baroque castle, surrounded by beautiful nature and unites Swiss, international, young and renowned artists with carefully curated programmes, new concert formats, and special concert venues.

The key point besides high-quality programming and artists is the free admittance to all concerts (donations are asked for at the end of each concert). This aims at allowing all interested parts of society to get access to and be involved with outstanding programmes and musicians.

Therefore, it is primordial to have the support of donors in advance enlarging the community with their generous offer of supporting the best possible artists for the festival. Especially for the sensitive art of song and classical concerts outside the big cultural centers, this concept facilitates access and lets the arts flourish. We are happy if you get in touch for supporting the festival HERE.

The first edition in 2018 was a great success featuring a. o. pianist Hartmut HÖLL and young swiss bariton Äneas HUMM as well as a recital recorded and broadcasted by Swiss radio station SRF2 Kultur and rebroadcast by BBC Radio 3 in 2019. This year’s festival includes a recital with the renowned soprano Rachel HARNISCH and German pianist Jan Philip SCHULZE as well as a focus on women composers celebrating the 200th birthday of Clara Schumann. Sharing our passion for showcasing less well known compositions SRF2 will again be recording and broadcasting this recital.

With our association behind the festival, we are a trustful and serious organisation.
